Bona AB supplies leading global products for installing, renovating, maintaining and restoring premium floors including: wood, tile, stone, vinyl, resilient, rubber, parquet and laminate.

Established in 1919 by Wilhelm Edner in Malmö, Sweden, the company has over a hundred years’ experience in the hardwood floor sector. With global coverage now across 17 subsidiaries, 70 distributors, five factories and 600 employees, this leading company has grown exponentially with its expert products and in-house knowledge.

The British Milton Keynes distributor base, has seen doubled business growth over the last few years and with a new, larger warehouse facility, the company is further expanding its capability.

Leanne Garvie, UK Marketing Manager tells us more,

“Our passion is delivering solutions that keep floors beautiful and functional year after year, throughout the life of the floor.

Bona’s exceptional performance track record and expertise have given us the privilege to care for floors in some of the world’s busiest and most beautiful buildings.”

Leading Bona floor products have been used in airports, museums to large sporting areas across the world, perfect for areas with busy walkways. Bona is the only company to offer a full range of sustainable products for floor care and further maintenance, as Leanne elaborates,

“Bona stays true to the needs and safety of professionals, distributors, manufacturers, craftsmen and consumers who use our products. With a unique, worldwide network of Bona Certified Craftsmen, we empower all our customers to achieve the best possible results for floors.

That’s why we can say, “recommended by professionals since 1919.”

Bona is committed to ensuring professionals utilise the whole range of Bona products and has opened a new, state-of-the-art training centre of excellence.

Professionals in the flooring industry can learn more about Bona machinery, products and best practice across three standard levels of training: Bona Trained Contractor, Bona one-day Resilient Floor training and Bona Certified Craftsman.

Firstly, in addition to the two-day Bona Certified Contractor training qualification, professionals new to the industry can undertake a one-day sanding and sealing course. This is perfect for employees working for Bona distributors, giving a clear insight into Bona products for greater customer service. The course modules include: learn the safe & effective use of different sanding machines and abrasives, avoid common sanding errors, contrast and use different finishing sanding methods, surface treatments: selection and correct application and learn the importance of effective floor maintenance.

Secondly, The Bona one-day Resilient Floor training course provides a full, comprehensive introduction to the Bona Resilient Solution: a premium system that not only renews but extends the life of resilient flooring, without the need for replacement. The course covers: full floor renewal, maintenance processes, and the many designs and additional features that can be introduced with this system.

Lastly, the Bona Certified Craftsman training is for experienced professionals, who are looking to expand their wood finishing knowledge to the next level. This extensive training covers the following: subfloor testing and preparation to BS 8201:2011, understanding adhesives and correct selection & use, optimal surface preparation for different treatments: modern machines and abrasives, expanding the offer with bespoke treatments including brushing & colour options, specifying the optimal treatment for the situation and maintenance for the life of the floor: offering additional services to the client.

Alongside the training knowledge modules, students will be offered quality promotional marketing support through membership to the Bona Certified Craftsman, helping attract further customers.

For over a hundred years, Bona has been firmly committed to cutting-edge innovation, through premium flooring products and services to the latest training courses and as Leanne explains, creativity is at the heart of Bona,
