Established in 1994, we were among the UK’s pioneers of Trenchless Technology and have since installed thousands of metres of pipework and ducting across a wide range of sectors.
Trenchless Techniques replace large open-cut trenches with targeted excavations at the start and exit points of each crossing (which we can also carry out). These methods reduce environmental and space impacts, and are essential in urban areas, heritage sites, live rail corridors, busy roads, and locations where trenching is impractical.
Because trenchless work is often specified generically, many engineers and quantity surveyors are unsure which method is appropriate for a given project. We assess each contract critically to select the technique that best manages ground conditions, access, and programme constraints – mitigating cost, delay, and risk.
Our expertise spans all major sectors, including Rail, Gas, Water, and Electricity, and we operate in almost any ground condition, from soft clays to solid rock, with installation sizes ranging from 90mm to 2,400mm. Techniques we regularly employ include Thrust Boring, Rock Auger Boring, Guided Auger and Guided Rock Boring, Directional Drilling (HDD), Pipe Ramming, Pipe Bursting, and Pipe Eating.
